X1245 W/P - Sr. (BY AIR MAIL). Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}21/KW.30.4.36. Unfortunately the Ph.III I was bringing over is not ready so that I shall miss E.R. Hall's car at Le Mans and Monthlery. I shall be very glad if you will let me have the figures obtained at Monthlery as soon as possible, as we have Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} at the Works on Monday and he will be interested. Your remarks re the slow running of the 4¼ litre are noted and we entirely agree with them. Our immediate recommendations are - (1) Ensure that there is no incipient flooding of the carburetters. (2) Run either with the original Bentley plug or large X.523 with as wide a gap as will permit you to pick up without misfiring. (3) Get a good set of petrol pumps. | ||
