-2- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}14/KW.26.10.34. Actually of course, the winter being upon us, it is more than probable that the bearing modification will be available by the time the first of your customers is due to have his bearings looked at, and you will therefore be in a position to fit something which will stay "put" for the rest of the car's life. I have written rather fully because it is unpleasant to be in the dark about so important a matter. I should certainly discourage your customers from running their cars round Montlhery, particularly in hot weather. I think Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} will be quite sympathetic to this particular problem, but I think by using discretion we can prevent anything serious happening and at the same time not involve the Company in any great expenditure. Generally speaking, we have never yet found a customer whose driving approaches the severity of our 10,000 miles test when averaged out.
