Phantom III Brake Operation.

We have examined the suggestion of dispensing with the taper pin K.4802 which is used for locking the equaliser spindle G.84094 into the forged bracket G.83513 - as shewn on general arrangement drawing G.83089.

We have no objection to deleting the taper pin, but in order to ensure that the nut K.4211 is locked by the split pin in its fully tightened position we think we should provide a second split pin hole in G.84094 drilled at right angles to the present one.

Will BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} kindly arrange to have the details altered.
