6-B-IV.

Modifications from existing specification Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}1/KW.31.8.35, now over three months old, are as follows :-

ENGINE UNIT.

(1) Valves as per Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}28/KW.5.11.35.
(2) Solid Hall's metal bearings, mains and big ends. The oil groove for the big end to be in the connecting rod.
(3) E.B.2560 cylinder head but with 6.45 C/R.{Sir Henry Royce}
(4) Final pistons to be supplied by Matthews, No.P.301, Casting No. C.227.
(5) Standard cylinder block. The chrome plated block will only be fitted after it has been proved on another unit.
(6) 45° angle metal gears.
(7) Final inlet pipe and large carb. scheme LeC.4780/2.
(8) Standard oil pump.
(9) Delco Remy distributor.
(10) Magnesium bottom half if available.

CHASSIS.

(1) Flexible front road springs and roll rod off 3-B-IV. This has not previously been specified anywhere but as we have now completed our test on 3-B-IV the parts can be transferred.
(2) Petrol system to LeC.4670 & LeC.4678.
