JAPAN 3.

Confirming our conversation on Friday last the writer understands that it is agreed to build 2 bodies for J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 3. at Messrs Park Ward & Co. provided EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} can ensure secrecy.

The 25HP. and J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 3. are identical except for the frames, and it will be put to Mr. Park that Sir Henry has agreed to test Mr. Park's often repeated suggestion to use a wide frame on a 25HP., but that he must maintain secrecy, or a rumour might spread that a new model of 25HP. was on the stocks and the results would be equally damaging to his Co. as well as ours.

The 2 bodies are:

(1) 6 seater Pullman) This body will be like the stock
or Landaulette. ) Pullman of 25HP. but with 1.5" more
) legroom to the rear seat.

(2) 4 Door Family ) This body will be almost the same as
Saloon, Sunshine) the stock P. W. Saloon.
roof. )

Designs will be sent to you for approval, and special drawings will be made to enable P. W. to build the body without the chassis. The body and wings will be mounted at Derby.

PEREGRINE 2.

The writer apologises for making the following comments on bodies for Per: 2.
(a) It would appear that there will be a need for only two types of stock car:
(1) 4 door family saloon, 6 light.
(2) 4 door sports saloon, 4 light.
(b) The output of Per: 2. will not be great enough to make it possible for us to run a production body factory of our own for Per: 2. bodies only.
(c) The price of the body (retail) will have to be approx: £150.
(d) The price demands purchase on a contract basis of so many per week.
(e) It appears to us to be the more economical to send the chassis to the body builder for the mounting and completion of the car, because:
