RE FAULTY EXHAUST MANIFOLDS.

With reference to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/T11/F30.3.20 Mr. Day has in hand modif-
ied designs of Exhaust Manifolds to overcome this trouble. These when completed will be put before Mr. Royce for his approval.

I do not think much can be done with existing Exhaust Manifolds except to correct those cases of faulty welding which were made by outside Contractors. It must be borne in mind that these Manifolds were not designed for commercial purposes and therefore were perhaps made of rather lighter gauge material than would otherwise have been selected.
