To ENT. from EFC. c. Accounts Office. [X430] EPC3/114.4.21. X.430. MAGNETOS RECEIVED FROM U.S.A. [X179 X3702] One or two of the magnetos received from U.S.A are not likely to be placed on experimental cars, and three magnetos, Berlings, have not been through our experimental tests. Are we in a position to return some of these magnetos to U.S.A and to be credited for them, or must we pay for the machines in any case ? In a short while from now it will be decided as to what magneto will be standardised for the U.S.A. car and as to whether a U.S.A. magneto will be used or not on the English car. When that time arrives we should like to return some of these U.S.A. magnetos if we can be credited for them as we have been instructed not to make any further tests on magnetos unless one is offered to us at particular advantage as regards price consistent with quality. The three Berling magnetos are not likely now to be put through our tests. The Eisemann C.N.6 magneto has been put through our bench tests, but we do not think this is like. [13] to be used on an experimental car. Possibly the same applies to the Dixie Aero 648 magneto, and certainly to the U.S.A. Bosch B.6 type. Contd. | ||
