Y3806 Expl: Dept: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LG. 21st. Feb. 1929. Messrs. C.C.Wakefield Ltd., Wakefield House, 30-32 Cheapside, London E.C.2. Dear Sirs, We are experimenting with the Bijur type of Central Lubrication for the successful operation of which it is necessary to use the correct grade of oil. The firm which is handling this job in England is Messrs. Luvax Ltd., Larden Rd. Acton W.3. We should be very glad if you would get in touch with them and obtain from them their specification and under what condition the oil has to perform, and then let us have your recommendations. We might add that we are not altogether in agreement with Messrs. Luvax on the question of oil. They market Luvax oil. We say it is too thick and congeals in cold weather. Our American associates who have been fitting this scheme to RR. cars for a considerable time make the following remark as regards the oil recommended by Bijur which is the American equivalent to the Luvax :- OIL. "We have an everlasting fight with Bijur on the subject of oil. We are now using and recommending Mobiloil A, winter and summer, which we used on our first experiments. Bijur recommends and supplies oils with about three times the Viscosity of Mobiloil A, but we find that in real zero weather these do not flow freely enough at the cold and distance points especially the front axle. contd :- | ||
