We should however, warn drivers and customers of the inadvisability of using our special chains in a worn out condition on the front wheels.

Bentley

In the case of the Bentley, we have had a set of chains made to the P.III. specification. Our object in doing this was to avoid having to move the jacking pad, at present on the rear springs, backwards a further 1.500", it having been reported that the standard Parsons chains caught the jacking pad when running slack.

The new type chains would also be a big improvement on the front wheels of the Bentley where the tyre to mudguard clearance is somewhat small at the wing tips.

25/30.HP.

Although we have not had any criticism on this car it would be better to bring the 25/30.HP. into line with the P.III. and Bentley. We should then be certain of avoiding any trouble which might arise from slack chains fouling the brake adjusters, and also have quieter chains.

Attached photograph shows a P.III. wheel with disc fitted and the special chains, with tensioners. When obtaining any of these chains please refer to them as the R.R. special type.
