We have reported in to-day's 10,000 mile report the failure of the front downtake pipe. The pipe in question was made of mild steel and in the tests of the first Bentley it was hoped that it would not be necessary to lag the pipe. The exhaust noise however made it imperative to do so. In view of having to lag the pipe, the production pipes have been made in Staybrite to prevent the corrosion that has occurred with the above mild steel pipe.
