81129 To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}8/MH.{M. Huckerby}27.3.39. SINGLE CYLINDER BENTLEY PARTS. Further to our memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}5/MH.{M. Huckerby}11.3.39, we should be glad if you would build the above unit up to include the following parts:- Cylinder Head. Cylinder head to EB.3437 instructed 5.10.38. Other parts may be taken from the existing No.5 head. Adaptor pieces to SCT.100, instructed 20.2.39. We should like to point out that the cylinder heads above have been urged repeatedly, but despite the fact that six months have elapsed since they were instructed, they still do not appear to have been completed, and we are at present compelled to run the unit on heads only fit to be scrapped. We have also been compelled to drop the Farnborough indicator job as adaptor pieces have not become available despite repeated urging. Parts instructed in By/Ald.{F. Allwood - Experimental Design}2/AW.15.2.39 are still outstanding. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards} | ||
