Dear Mr. Grylls,

I am sorry I have been so long in replying to your letter dated March 29th, in which you were good enough to give me considerable information in regard to gear ratios in the Rolls-Royce box.

We are very sorry indeed that you cannot help us at the present stage in providing the required ratio to give an overall ratio comparable with the box we are making at Leyland at the present time, but we are looking into this at our own end, and we will probably make some arrangement whereby the box can be more adequately tested under service conditions. I will, however, keep in touch with you with regard to tests and if any useful information comes to light I will undertake to let you have this immediately.

Yours faithfully,
p.p. LEYLAND MOTORS LIMITED.

V.W. Pilkington
Chief Engineer.
