ORIGINAL. TO BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to CJ. c. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to WP. c. to EPC. E1/M29.5.23. GOSHAWK 11. MAGNETO DRIVE WITH SLIDING COUPLING. X4327 We thank you for your blue print No.485. We have traced over this and send you the scheme of sliding coupling which Mr. Royce wishes to fit. There are two points for which we had to make provision:- (1) It was necessary to entirely detach the coupling from the stationary dogs before attempting to engage the driving dogs. This required so much length that Mr. Royce suggested the latch shewn which has no rotational position. (2) It is necessary not to interfere with the brush cover being fixed in the position shewn on Lec.1571. which is required for the purpose of making a running inspection of the brushes. We should be glad if you would issue the necessary instructions for testing this drive. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
