1328 18th September 1937 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.1/AP. The British Thermostat Co.Ltd., Teddington Works, Windmill Lane, Sunbury-on-Thames. Middlesex. For the attention of Mr.Martin-Hurst. Dear Sirs, In connection with the two failures which we have had on experimental thermostats (to B.G.A.2073.A. except for certain modifications) we have visited Messrs Vauxhalls and discussed their experience with your thermostat units. They confirmed that they had had no failures of the type which we have experienced, but mentioned a rare failure at the point of attachment of the valve stem to the bellows plate and said that the design had now been modified as shown on aattached print in order to avoid this trouble. We should like your assurance that this same modification will be included on the thermostats which we are proposing to buy and also that it has been included on the four thermostats last ordered from you. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
