G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} V.{VIENNA} It has been found that the pipe leading into the forward end of the main silencer has again broken off at the welded joint. This is the second time that this trouble has occurred, the last occasion was on 13.10.36. This failure seems due to the fact that there is not sufficient support and that excessive stress is thrown on this point, and also at the bottom end of the down pipe leading into the first expansion chamber. Apart from expense, we can see no objection to fitting an additional suspension, secured to the tubular cross member which is conv'niently situated just above the forward end of the main silencer. We are not experiencing this trouble in service HH 12/12/36 HH GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/HFH.{Hoppy F. Hamilton} Noted File GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
