GOOD YEAR TYRES. (Roy.{Sir Henry Royce}3/MG.18.5.32.)

The set of five 6.00 x 19 Goodyear Tyres which we have for test purposes have now completed the following mileage.

4 of them have completed 5,006 miles (two on the front and 2 on the rear of a car).

The fifth tyre has been run 2,120 miles on the rear of a second car.

The tyres have been satisfactory, appear fairly good for not skidding and the rate of wear is about comparable with Dunlop tyres. The two rear tyres after 5,006 miles have worn smooth the centre portion of the tread; the two front tyres after similar mileage have still a good non skid tread.

We have not found them in any way superior to Dunlop tyres, in the matter of noise they are inferior and it is doubtful if they would be acceptable to Sales on this point even if there were other reasons why we should think of adopting them.
