X6032. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/HEW3/AD. June 15th, 1931. Messrs. Lucas Electrical Co.Ltd. Well St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Birmingham. Dear Sirs, Lucas Alto Horn. We are arranging to return to you a Lucas Alto Horn type HF.{H. W. Frost - Coachwork Inspector}43 removed from one of our test chassis. This horn has failed, as you will observe, due to a fracture of the thin flat spring supporting the armature and diaphragm. Considering the fact that this horn has only been in service on the chassis six months, we view this failure unsatisfactorily and should be glad to have your comments. We should also be pleased to know when it will be possible for us to have for trial (as arranged) samples of the improved type Alto and Altette horns. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED | ||
