It is desired to carry out tests of an alloy of the following composition; which has been proposed by the R.A.F.:- Copper 7% Zinc 1% Tin 1% Aluminium 91% The tests should comprise the same tests as were instructed for the previous range of alloys under EF04/19.5.17 viz.- (a) Stanton impact test (3 test pieces) (b) Upton Lewis fatigue test (3test pieces) (c/d)Tensile tests at atmospheric temperature and higher temperatures up to 400°C. (6test pieces) (E) Specific gravity & Brinell hardness tests. (F) Chemical Analyses. Will those concerned kindly note and endeavour to put these tests through with the least possible delay. EPC. | ||
