X.3550 RE 20 H.P. MAGNETO DRIVE AND MAGNETO STRAP.

Please find attached drawing No. LeC. 1131 shewing a slightly modified coupling for the 20 H.P. magneto together with the magneto strap.

The magneto is shewn in a position about .350" nearer to the centre line of the engine than on the main scheme of the wheelcase and gears. This economy is necessitated by the proportions of bonnet and radiator it is desired to use, and is at the same time advantageous in itself. The modified scheme is lighter and simpler.

Further to the foregoing, Mr. Royce desires to mount the magneto direct without the use of a dowel plate, as shewn on LeC. 1131, and the holes for the magneto dowel pins should be jig drilled and sufficiently slack to accomodate the allowing variation on the magneto dowel centres and diameters.
