C O P Y. 19, LANDSIER ROAD, HOVE, SUSSEX. October 11th. 1928. Dear Sir, Chassis GCK-54. In reply to your letter of the 10th. inst., to Mrs.Gloag, handed to me for reply, I wish to add Mrs.Gloag appreciates the loan of another car while her own is being attended to. Also to bring the following to your notice while you have the car at Derby - I have found the road springs very difficult to stop from squeaking. I have applied the usual remedy by jacking the weight of springs and opening same for lubrication. Also, this engine has been twice decarbonized in 8,700 miles, the last time it has only done just slightly over 3,000 miles and I find it detonates on hills. While you have the car I should like this attended to. I can safely say we would rather pay for this, and will advise Mrs.Gloag to this effect. I raise the point as I hardly think it is necessary for this operation every 3,000 miles. The engine has been in to the London Depot for decarbonizing - mileage then, just over 5,000. I have arranged with our Insurance Company to cover your car, but they would like year of make, Registered No. and also value of same. Yours faithfully, (Sgd) H. {Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Livett. for Mrs.A.A. Gloag. | ||
