COPY. X5460. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E3/M15.10.31. X5460. C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 3. PETROL PUMP & DRIVE. We send you herewith LeC. 2966. dealing with the above. The pump chamber is the same as used on P. 2. but the actuating mechanism is naturally somewhat different, the push rod being carried through the engine somewhat horizontally to an eccentric on the camshaft, which eccent-ric is buried on one of the bearings. This bearing has to be different to the others but is still located by the tappet blocks. The stroke of the pump has been slightly reduced from P. 2. for the convenience of the design, but should be quite sufficient for the size of the engine. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
