Managing Director,

Attention: Messrs. E.F.Clarke & F.H.Royce.

Dear Sir:- Re: Batteries

I note from recent reports of Mr. E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} F. {Mr Friese} Clarke that he does not know the cost of the Exide LXR battery. For his information, I may say that this battery costs us at Springfield about $24.10.

We are strongly of the opinion, however, that the internal resistance of this battery is rather high for American winter starting conditions and that it will be necessary to change to the Willard 90 ampere hour battery with rubber separators - SJRN-28, the cost of which will be probably about $25.00.

Yours truly,
