To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} (Chateauroux) from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GR.{George Ratcliffe} 600a Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GR.{George Ratcliffe}16/AP.27.8.37 26.G.Vl.{V. Lewis / Mr Valentine} - 30.HP. Ref. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux}10/JAB.24.8.37 Will you please check the following points - (1) Remove all external enamel from the carburetter top where the clamp registers. (2) Check top of carburetter for concentricity. (3) Check alignment of air intake bend between carburetter and air silencer. (4) Increase diameter clearance of choke valve spindle in end bearings if necessary. The failure is probably due to the spindle having been bent at the control end, while in the full open position, with a very loose engine mounting, as in this direction the control is positive. It may be necessary to have clearance in the fully open position i.e. the choke valve approx. 1/8" off the stop. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GR.{George Ratcliffe} | ||
