81807. Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/HAW. From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. c. to By/RD. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.2/MA.22.7.33. BENTLEY SPEEDOMETERS. We have now checked over the four instruments submitted by the A.T. Co., for our approval before they make the cliche for the scale. Only one of these instruments is correct No.G909 the others are on the average 2 1/2% too slow. We wish to point out a very undesirable feature with regard to these instruments. The needle gives a pronounced kick at regular intervals when driven direct from a motor through a small rubber coupling. This kick is particularly bad on instrument No.G905 and suggests a tight place in the counter mechanism gears. Instruments Nos.G.905, G.908 and G.906 should be rejected and returned for correction.
