15. Split Skirt Pistons.
Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/OTS. said that one of the difficulties in obtaining these was to get them ground to the RR. camform. It was agreed that some should be tried ground to the aerolite camform in one of the new engines.
16. Tyre Squeal.
The hot weather indicated that even India tyres were not good enough. They should not, therefore, be taken as a standard for the improved Avons.
17. What Parts are available to build the 3 1/4 4-cyl Engine.
None of the special parts necessary to build the 3 1/4 engine exist. In point of fact, the only parts not common to the 8-cyl. engines running are the crankshaft and cylinder block, head and camshaft. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/OTS. will say if a pattern exists for the 3 1/4 bore 4-cyl. block.
18. Rear Seat Heat on B.V's.
We will ask for Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car next week.
19. Testing New Oil Pipe Design.
It was agreed that the pipes to the bye-pass filter, produced to eliminate breakages, should be tested as soon as possible.
20. Oil Pressure at Low Speeds.
Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wyn's report was discussed. It was agreed that all pumps should be made with .002 clearance. Jmr will see if there is anything to prevent us using cast iron gears in the pumps.
21. Overheating of R.20 Engines.
Collin will issue a report on the conditions of the top of the matrix on the radiator taken off 9.B.V.
