-4- Nature of Complaint. Exhaust Pipe Bracket. We have no cure for this at present. A sliding joint in the front end of the silencer would do away with most of the trouble due to heat. Dynamo Drive Rattles. We know of no cure other than those in use, i.e. minimum slack in gears and drive. No. of Cars prior to India Series. W. - N. 2. P. - W. 2. N. 3. P. - India Series. W. 2. Not N.13. Recorded P. - last 17. quarter. W. 8. Not N. 2. recorded P. - last 15. quarter. Remarks. This trouble is due to the distortion of the exhaust stand pipe owing to the heat. It also causes irritating exhaust blows before the bracket is broken. A very small amount of slack in any portion of the dynamo drive or timing wheels is sufficient to set up rattles. The brake pad designed to overcome this is of very little use after a small amount of wear has taken place. Hm. {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} | ||
