8417. Expl. Dept. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/MJ. January 8th.1931. C.R.Fairey Esq., The Fairey Aviation Co. Ltd., Hayes, MIDDLESEX. Dear Mr. Fairey, Replying to your letter of the 4th. inst. If your car is at present giving you satisfaction, we would prefer that you delay sending it in for a week or two. We have got Mr. Sidgreaves to agree that we can give you a little more 'fizz' in the engine and it will be necessary for us to make one or two new parts and carry out some tests before we shall be ready to fit them to your car. If this arrangement is suitable to you we will let you know in due course when we would like the car. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. P.S. Mr. Sidgreaves has mentioned that you are anxious that the Fairey propeller fitted to the 111 F.{Mr Friese} machine which we are flying at Tollerton should have-the be dynamically balanced. We shall be returning the propeller off this machine to you next week in order to have it retwisted. This will give you an opportunity to balance it. | ||
