26/11/34 S/W. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. re- Headlamps and Fog Lamps for R- R and Bentley Chassis. Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}14/KW29.11.34. When replying to Cxll/KW26.11.34 as to when you are staging the lamp demonstrations, will you please let us know whether the demonstrations that you are proposing to hold will incorporate not only tests of fog lamps but also headlamps with double filament bulbs, P.100 lamps of lighter design, a scheme of dipping the nearside headlight and switching out the offside headlight and a scheme of double dippers. We hope it may be possible to get a decision on all these points, so as to arrive at a definite conclusion as to what is the best form of headlamps, headlamp control, i.e. anti-dazzle, as well as finding out at the same time what is the best scheme for dealing with fog. We hope that an early demonstration and decision can now be arrived at, because we are already in the foggy period and should like to make as much practical use of the decisions as possible during the present Winter months.
