re- Instrument Boards.

CX{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}5/KW28.4.34.
Dictated 27.4.34.

On reading through Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}27/KW28.4.34, it occurs to me that I may not have made myself completely clear on this matter.

The wooden instrument board to which I referred in paragraph 1 is of course a board that the Coachbuilders would supply and not something which we should expect to come with the chassis from the Works. Whilst Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} would realise my point, I felt I ought to make clear to you also just what I had in mind.

This means that we should no longer need to ask you to supply chromium plated flanges to the instruments and to the instrument panel, such as you are doing at present, and if with chassis that come through without these chromium plated rims we could have the new blue print of the instrument board lay-out, then we could make it clear to all Coachbuilders who receive chassis without these rims that they should all be covered by a polished wood board.

We of course still require the centre panel carrying the speedometer and clock and small gauges, but this panel is now hidden behind the polished wood board which is cut merely to allow the instrument dials to show through. It is a very neat arrangement, and has been much appreciated since we tried it out.

These remarks apply, of course, to both 40/50 and 20/25 h.p.chassis.
