Dear Robotham,

Your letter dated the 14th March, addressed personally to Mr. Spurrier, has been shown to me, with particular regard to the prospective visit of Mr. Markland, to discuss superchargers.

As a preliminary I am attaching a typed list indicating the items of information he will be discussing with you, and to which perhaps you would be giving some consideration before the visit actually takes place.

As to the date of the visit, I would very much appreciate hearing from you what you consider would be a convenient date for Markland to come down to Derby and whether he should ask for you personally. Any time after Easter will be convenient as far as he is concerned.

With regard to Chromium Plating, we will be very pleased indeed to see Mr. Apsley at the Works for a full discussion of this subject.

On the subject of the patent position, I have been attempting to find out actually when we raised the question of short liners as a patentable feature with our Patent Agents. Our records show that about the middle of 1935 we lodged with them Application No. 1500/35; we instructed them to prepare the final specification on the 25th November, 1935, and on investigation in relation to completion our Patent Agents advised us of certain objections raised, and as covered by Patent Specifications Nos. 244539, 379968, 377839 and 351726, as these patents covered in practically every respect the
