With reference to your report re the deflection of the springs under front wheel braking it would be interesting to know where this deflection is taking place, and we suggest that by applying a torque to the wheel you could measure the deflection at various points, namely, at the top of the pivot, at the nearest spring table, at the most distant spring table, and at the other pivot, the object being to determine which is the flexible part of the front axle.

We also should like to know about the maximum inclination of the pivot backwards. We believe on the 40/50 you have had a maximum inclination of about 2°, and about 5° on Goshawk. Does the new front wheel brake axle require the 2° or can we get more and still avoid wobbles? No doubt you have investigated this point in connection with your present experiments.
