X3805 To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from BJ. BJ10/H6.10.25. Copy to...... PN.{Mr Northey} LUBRICATION: BENTLEY CAR. With reference to the following copy of memorandum from PN.{Mr Northey}, can you please appoint one of the officials who is visiting Olympia to make a special report for us in connection with this matter? B.J. COPY OF PN{Mr Northey}6/DN6.10.25. The recent extremely dramatic success of the Bentley on the track at Paris, apart from anything else, was an indication of the extremely effective system of lubrication throughout. I have frequently brought to my notice by those who know the Bentley car, the extent to which they have reduced the amount of work necessary to be done by the owner-driver in carrying out lubrication, by making sundry points of lubrication automatic, which in our own case are not so. It would appear that such automaticity has not resulted in unreliability. I suggest that the Works should detail someone to look very closely into this matter. The Motor show may give an opportunity. I feel that we should at no time lose any opportunity of urging the introduction to our chassis of any reliable method of reducing the amount of work and attention required to it. P.N. | ||
