Re Front Axle Pivots.

I do not understand this sheet exactly - am I to understand that our front stub axle will be made of this Vickers' C.N. steel as well as the front axles? This is what I suggest and I am satisfied with the figures given, but I conclude that the materials of those that failed are not C.N.s but only N.S. and not Vickers forg-ings. I also suggested that a test piece should be taken from the broken ones and from those broken in ex-perimental testing.

At the same time we must increase the section until the piece is twice as strong at least - see the other sheets.

I await Mr. Spinney's drawings of improvements.

We can now get a revolving lathe record of the pre-sent piece so that in the future we can easily compare the strength of the different designs and materials.
