COPY FOR HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL "CAMACHAHenry Royce's office in West Wittering" WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town. CHICHESTER. 25th. Sep. 1925. Messrs Barker & Co. (Coachbuilders) Ltd. Olaf Street, Latimer Road. LONDON. W. 11. FOR ATTENTION BY MAJOR C. F.{Mr Friese} DINGWALL. X5380 X5430 Dear Sirs, This is to confirm our conversation of yesterdays date with your Mr. Munday, with reference to the 20HP. subframe. We understand that you will arrange to modify the front windscreen by sloping the glass a small amount from the top tube so as to clear the revised special steering column which we are fitting, which is 2" nearer the dash than our standard raked wheel. We are pleased that this alteration can be done without very much scrap or delay. We expect you will receive the chassis this weekend. With reference to the question of rear wheel clearances on your standard 20HP. RR. chassis having the revised track of 56", we are pleased to say that we think the wheel arch which you suggest is very beneficial, as it provides wider cushion of more uniform resilience, and at the same time is a reduction in weight over our present method of recommended construction. We will arrange to inform our London office, and if they accept our suggestion you will no doubt receive revised prints in a short while. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
