X.8690. BATTERY IGNITION DISTRIBUTOR.

Herewith we hand to you an up-to-date standard battery ignition distributor head. Would you kindly have drilled in this head six 1/16" holes centrally placed between the figures encircling the central terminal.

We want to try the experiment of additional ventilation through the distributor, as this may possibly affect the life of the contact points and almost certainly the life of the sparking points.

This head will then be run on an equivalent 10,000 miles test on our bench and compared with a similar result already taken for the standard piece.

In addition to the above, we would like at the same time to make the experiment on a chassis, say 46-PK, as this has just been fitted with new points.

Therefore would you temporarily arrange to drill the distributor head on that chassis in the same manner and then replace it.
