WATFORD EW6 MAGNETOS.

Answering your ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/JT3/HP5.5.28 we should be pleased if you would arrange for the magneto No.100084 to be returned to us.

It transpires that although this machine was tried on a car in the Test Dept., we did not perform the leaky gap test on this particular machine. We must therefore investigate further as to whether there is some other explanation of the reported failure of this machine on the car, as Messrs. North say the machine is O.K.

We have another machine, viz. one of the four recently sent to us experimentally with continuous cams, No.100094. This fails to start the engine, but before returning this to Messrs. North we will carry out a leaky gap test. It should be explained that in the ordinary way, i.e. on production test, we have not so far included the leaky gap test. It may become necessary to do this.
