X4553A To HIC. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/KW. 8.6.34. 10,000 Miles Cars. We have three 10,000 miles cars at present. The parts we are hoping to get on them before sending them to France are as follows :- Phantom 28-EX. (1) Gearbox with synchromesh second speed which you have now completed. (2) Roll rod, N.Sch. 4064. (3) Silent Tappets. Final set of adjustable tappets to be fitted to the standard cylinder head, E.84568. LOP. E.84592, valves and fittings to LeC. handed herewith. Silent tappet mechanism as ordered in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.5/MA. 29.5.34. items 1 to 5. The Camshaft to be fitted was instructed in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.4/KW.1.6.34. (4) The clutch central plate and back plate will require setting to a specification which will be determined by our present clutch tests being carried out on the 20/25 and Bentley. (5) The 70 m.m. Harrison matrix instructed in BY/CS.2/EH.14.5.34 should be fitted to this car. 20/25 HP. 21-G-IV. This car is waiting for the following :- (1) Propellor shaft damper. (2) 58 m.m. Harrison radiator matrix instructed in BY/CS.8/EH.20.4.33. (3) Final carburetter air silencer that has been detailed for production. (4) La{L. A. Archer} Salle steering box as instructed for Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'s car. (5) Rubber mounting to final production details. | ||
