Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Mr. Robotham,

Although we seem to have got entirely out of touch with one another, which I am very sorry about, I am taking the liberty of writing to ask whether you could help me.

From a purely research point of view we are interested in a device which may necessitate the use of a small mechanical Servo which might easily be a miniature of the kind of thing you employ for your brakes at the moment.

I should very much appreciate it if I might send up my Transmission Engineer to have a talk to one of your people and inspect the various parts of your mechanical Servo, and also to find out the details of any Patents that you have on the job, so that if we wanted to proceed we should realize from the beginning that we might have to approach you regarding commercial arrangements.

At the moment, as I rather intimated above, the whole question is academic, but it would assist me very much if you could accede to my request.

Yours sincerely,

T. S. Sorinte
