For the attention of S.H. Grylls, Esq. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, D E R B Y . Dear Sirs, With reference to Mr. Hickling's visit of Friday last, and with particular regard to the promise to supply a Double Row Double Purpose Bearing, our 5/MDJT.30, with the standard angle of contact between the balls and the tracks on the thrust side, and an angle of only 5º on the journal side, we have pleasure in despatching under separate cover one such bearing, and we shall be very interested in the results which you obtain on your tests. As mentioned during our conversation, the danger is of course in the fact that the journal side will cause undue heating and probably noise, but this is a matter which can only be ascertained by your tests. With regard to the other points discussed, these are having our attention and will be dealt with at an early date. Always assuring you of our best attention, We are, Yours faithfully, RANSOME & MARLES BEARING CO. LTD. [Signature: C.G.H. Richardson] GENERAL MANAGER. u.s.c. One brg. Spcl. 5/MDJT.30. | ||
