It appears to us that the original loose liner Wraith engine is an ideal way of getting comparative results. we ought to get some of the Phosphor Chrome liners made by Leylands fitted to one of these engines and compare them with ordinary cylinder iron. we suggest that we get out a standard test for the Cold Chamber with this engine, such as starting the engine every 10 minutes, allowing it to run for 5 minutes and then stopping down. In a week of this work we ought to get an appreciable amount of cylinder bore wear.
