Capt. Thistlethwaite. 194-GN.

You now have this car at Derby. The owner has recently stated that he is so keen on having improved conditions for fast braking that he is relatively indifferent to any brake-squeaks which may result from any effective modification we can fit.

On Wednesday evening when Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} were here Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} agreed that we fit to the rear wheels of this car the steel ribbed pulley arrangement which we are fitting to the Fairey car. Of course it would have been very nice if we could also deal with the front brakes at the same time, but I fear that the experimental work in connection with the use of cast aluminium ribbed, having cast iron liner, may not have sufficiently developed in time.

It is understood that you will deal with Chassis No. 194-GN on the lines indicated above.
