To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} De. X4138 Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}10/W23919. RE PRIMING COCK ON 40/50 CHASSIS. Mr. Royce in his R1/G6519 suggested that the spring on the cock on the induction pipe could be removed, as the additional spring inserted in this system fulfilled the same purpose, and the three springs actually used were unnecessary and caused the cock to be too tight in operation. Later you wrote in R1/G20-8-19, which apparently related to the same matter, suggesting the removal of the extra spring, which presumably referred to the spring which controls the rod endways. The scheme we have in hand is the removal of the spring on the cock on the induction pipe. Do you wish us to continue with this, or to apply the scheme referred to in your note, or to do both for trial against each other. Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} | ||
