We have been instructed to make experimental cars of the 'India' type. This is the 20 HP. prepared for 4-wheel brakes, but no brakes are fitted. This car has a front axle suitable for front wheel brakes but no machining done on it to take the brake operating. It has pivots suitable for brakes but the machining not completed to take the brakes. It has the short front springs, shackled at the rear and a standard dumb iron. It has a 4-speed gearbox with right-hand change without a servo or brake equaliser. It has the wider track rear axle with the wider brakes and drums. The experimental 'India' cars without front wheel brakes were delayed owing to not being able to obtain ground gears so that we have actually got a complete car fitted with 4-wheel brakes before the 'India' without 4-wheel brakes. Now that we have got a car and shall soon have other cars complete with brakes we should like to know whether it is still necessary for us to produce, run and test 'India' type cars?
