re Adjustable Shock Dampers.

Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}10/E20.7.33

Referring to Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}4/M17.7.33 and Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/KT.18.7.33 I note that we have 40 sets of the present type Hartford shock absorbers in stock and that we are asking Andre's if they will take these back in exchange for the tele-control type.

If, as I gather from the Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid{A. J. Lidsey} memo. it is proposed to introduce our own scheme of ride control fairly soon even on the Continental P.II car, then I agree that it would probably be best only to order Andre tele-control in small numbers, i.e. 5 sets at a time, which of course means that they would only be able to take back the standard types at the same rate.

But at the discussion which we had on Tuesday as per Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}10/KW19.7.33 it was, as pointed out therein, believed that it might be advisable to leave the Continental with Andre tele-control and fit the RR ride control scheme to the long type chassis with low rating springs.

It is a technical point which requires straightening out but, as Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} points out in the last paragraph of his memo. we believe we should have no difficulty in persuading customers that the Andre scheme gave the greater range of control for the Continental chassis and the RR scheme was specially designed for the low rating springs.
