Extract from - SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} RG.{Mr Rowledge}) FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}) X/7240 RL/M8.7.30. WORK AT WW. X.7240. X.7430. CONTROLS ON STEERING COLUMN. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} is working on these. The wheel is being dished slightly more, and the controls flattened. It should be pointed out here that those of USA. are held by friction, and ours by rack. We think ours much better to handle, and cannot creep by vibration. This accounts for USA. controls being flatter. We were pioneers of many controls on steering column. We hope to send a new design in about a week. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
