ALUMINIUM-TIN BEARINGS for ROVER 20 H.P. We have investigated the conditions under which the Aluminium-Tin Connecting Rod bearings have been run on Rover 20 H.P. engine, and the following are our recommendations for improving the performance of these bearings. (1) Increased area to oil grooves in main bearings, we suggested grooves should be .150 x .050 minimum. (2) Modified oil supply to the crankpin as shown on attached sketch. (3) Brinell of crankshaft could possibly be raised to 320-340 with advantage. Blueprint text: CRANKPIN EXISTING .250 DIA HOLE DRILLED ONLY TO DEPTH AS SHOWN JOURNAL 2 HOLES DRILL .137 DIA.
