Messrs. Adamant Engineering Co. Ltd.,
Dallow Road,
LUTON.

For the attention of Commander F.C. Matravers.

Dear Sirs,

25/30 HP. CHASSIS - MARLES STEERING.

Referring to the visit of our Mr. Rowbotham earlier in the week to discuss the question of the production of roller F.61281/2 and the modified procedure which was arranged at the time of his visit, by which it was agreed that Messrs. Ransome & Marles should produce the above follower roller from bar material supplied by yourselves, would you be good enough to let me have particulars of the steel in question and its heat treatment, as we wish to pass this information on officially to Messrs. Ransome & Marles in order to assure ourselves that they have complete information as to the composition of the material, method of carburising and final heat treatment, as it is necessary that no change should be made from your previous procedure in regard to the treatment of the material.

We are informing our Order Office of the proposed change of procedure, which will come into operation in approximately a month's time, but in the meantime it will, of course, be necessary for you to maintain deliveries to enable us to keep our output going. We on our part will inform you when we can be assured of deliveries from Messrs. Ransome & Marles.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.

By

TECHNICAL PRODUCTION ENGINEER.

P.S. Our Mr. Hardy has just informed me of your letter to him giving particulars asked for in paragraph 1 above.
