X4617 E EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 6/ T 26th November 1925. Mr. McKinnon, Clifton Junction, Nr. Manchester. Dear Mr. McKinnon, Re WH Batteries. Mr. Platford has expressed a desire to have one of these at the special price which you quoted, and I should be pleased if you would have this addressed to Mr. Platford, C/o Parcels Office, L.M.S. Derby, to be called for, and also charge to him direct. As regards myself, I have decided that I do not want any more of these at the moment, but when my dry batteries at Abingdon are exhausted I may like to order two later on, but here in Derby I have plenty of batteries. I hope it will not be troubling you too much to send me another set of positives for an A.Z. cell, as mentioned to you in conversation. I trust you will, if possible, let me know of any premature failures of chassis batteries which come to the notice of your firm - such information being required not from the point of view of condemning the batteries, as we do now believe that the present standard Exide batteries which you are supplying to us are very good, but we want this information in a general way, both from you and Messrs. P & R, largely to enable us to decide whether we have the finally right generator characteristics, and naturally in a less/degree to enable us mutually to arrive, if possible, at further improvements in the batteries | ||
