LONDON . W.C.2 Your Reference....................... Our Department TECHNICAL & RESEARCH DEPT. Date 29th May 1934. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} W. Hives, Esq., Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, DERBY. Dear Mr. Hives, I have heard from our London and Leicester Offices that you are now taking ethylised petrol for use in the new Bentleys, and as I was under the impression when I saw you at Derby last, when we went out in the Bentley, that you were not at all in favour of using leaded fuels for the car, I am wondering whether I was mistaken or whether you have changed your policy. As we naturally are often asked by car owners what are the most suitable fuels for different makes of cars we wish to keep our recommendations in line with the views of the manufacturers of the cars in question, so may I ask you to be so kind as to let me know what the present official view of your Company is with regard to the fuels for the new Bentleys. Kind regards, Yours sincerely, L.G. Curtis All offers subject to acceptance by return of post unless otherwise stated | ||
