X1265 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}17/KW.5.6.36. Phantom III. Will you please detail and produce an oil pump with gears 2.00" in depth as against 1.375" which is the present standard, for trial with regard to the very low oil pressure obtained when idling with hot oil. Two sets of gears should be made, one with straight sided teeth and one with standard helical gears. In order to save the casting of a new case, a packing can be made to insert between the existing oil pump case and cover. The above is urgent, as low oil pressure (2 lbs/sq.in.) is a general complaint on Ph.III, and same trouble is being experienced by G.W.H. in France. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/L.H.Swindall. | ||
